I would just like to thank the "American People," not the government, for proving that they CAN affect the price of gasoline in this Country, less use, equals lower prices, the more we use, the more it costs, THESE are the principles of Supply and Demand, so keep up the good work America, continued conservancy will bring tomorrows prices even lower.
Economy, not individual usage
I think it was the economic slow-down that actually caused the fuel prices to come down, as industry produced less and therefore used less fuel. I don't think individual people actually used less fuel by any measurable amount.
I would, however, like to thank the oil companies for driving the American auto industry into the ground. By raising gas to over $4 per gallon, they caused people to focus on fuel-efficiency -- something they hadn't really been concerned about. And which the industry wasn't concerned about, either.
So now the cars that were being produced are in less demand, they sell less, and jobs are in jeopardy.
Thank you, oil companies. Thank you.
